New Paradigms in Innovative Learning!

Research in education and innovative learning & teaching methods have shown that the age-old methods of teaching and learning do not work, anymore. New methods such as incidental learning, context-based learning, learning by doing, active learning, cross-over learning and other innovative methods are in practice in many countries, particularly, in developed societies.

Innovative learning, according to research, has always helped students to learn quickly and thoroughly. Developing and experimenting new tools, new approaches, new models and methods, undoubtedly, trigger curiosity among the learners and help them understand even the most cumbersome issues and problems. For instance, smart classrooms use computers, technology and the internet to enhance the learning experience of the students. Flipped classrooms, virtual classrooms, blended learning, mobile learning, for instance, have supported the learners to understand the teaching materials and themes of what they are supposed to learn in a much better. Undoubtedly, the intended learning outcomes are achieved by them at a faster pace.

Interestingly, noted educationist, Prof. Edger Dale observes that people remember 90% of what they do meaning, simulations, models, designing and performing a presentation are very essential to enhance learning and remembering what the students have learnt.
