Tangible and sustainable growth for all is key to economic prosperity, higher standard of living and happiness of the masses. Reducing poverty, ensuring job security, providing corruption-free administration, creating and maintaining world-class infrastructure which includes quality roads, ports, telecommunication, healthcare, technology, energy security, high-speed internet etc., are all possible only when we break-down all the barriers on the way.
Many of the technological advancements, unfortunately, have not reached the developing and under-developed countries in Asia and the African continents.
For instance, internet penetration rate is just 28.6% in Africa and 40.2% in Asia respectively, while North America enjoys 87.9% and the Europe 73.5%. (Source: www.internetworldstat.com). This unequal trends should be addressed, early to bring an orderly and overall growth of the world economy.
Global governments should work together in order to identify obstacles, exchange valuable information on trade, investments, technological-break-through etc., focus on infrastructure and capacity building, ensure food security and give fresh fillip to human resource development. Only then, building a better future not only for the current generation but for the future generation is quite possible.
Against this backdrop, the upcoming conference is being organized at Wagner College, which is located in the most beautiful Staten Island, New York. The conference is aimed at achieving the following objectives:
a) Identify and analyze the major barriers that hamper economic growth and offer suitable solutions to fix them all;
b) Exchange knowledge pertaining to job security, poverty reduction, reduction in corruption and promoting economic development;
c) Provide a platform for researchers, economists, thinkers and practitioners to network and share their research and practical experiences to develop models and systems for addressing the global economic issues; and
d) Suggest innovative solutions to fix all major global economic issues.
